About "Grandpa"

Hi!
- I'm Ged Bulat

I enjoy a contented life ...and baking Cookies!

I've always been interested in Cookie baking.  In my early years it had more to do with sneaking cookie dough out of the mixing bowl and licking dough "leftovers" off beaters and spatula.  I never did write and publish that "Cookie Dough Eater's Cookbook."

As I grew up I adjusted to the absence of an in-house Cookie Maker and resorted to eating store-bought cookies. However, I was always somewhat disappointed even with the best of those cookies.  So...I decided to start baking my own versions of my favorites. And, of course,... Fresh, from scratch, cookies from the oven are always better!

During our Covid adventure, I started baking larger batches and donating most to our Daughter's Kaiser immunization teams.  As my cookie skills developed, I have become more creative and original in my recipes.  I also learned it was best to limit my creative palette to "drop" cookies.

Now I bake 3 to 5 dozen cookies a week. Since that is a lot of cookies for home consumption, I distribute most of them to, mostly appreciative, family (especially our, now, GrandTeens), friends, neighbors and, as my wife and I get to a certain age, hardworking medical staff that help fix our aging bodies.

Thanks to my, now, Grand"Teens" whose Cookie requests, help, and enthusiastic consumption were strong motivation.  Thank you, specifically, Quinn for my Front Page Background and my "Baking the World a Better Place" theme and Aaron for cookie critiques and suggestions.

Have fun baking! Be Kind and Remember to Share...
